On Wednesday, August 18, 2021, a new paleogenetic study entitled “Reconstructing genetic histories and social organization in Neolithic and Bronze Age Croatia” was published in the scientific journal Scientific Reports. The study presents the results of sequencing 28 ancient genomes of humans who lived in eastern Croatia during the Neolithic and Bronze Ages. In addition to colleagues from the University of Vienna and the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Human History in Jena (Germany), Croatian scientists also took part in the research, including Dr. sc. Mario Novak from the Center for Applied Bioanthropology of the Institute of Anthropology.
